Meet Ashley Myers-Coyett, TERMAC Technician

By Terence O’Reilly, Jr. and Sean O’Reilly, Sr.

As the only female technician at TERMAC, Ashley Myers-Coyett excels in a field that is traditionally male, but she is comfortable being “one of the guys.”

After high school she went to Job Corps, a job training program for young adults, where she tested high and excelled in electrical work. She loved it, and knew then she would be following a career path that had not included a lot of women. She was previously employed in maintenance and electrical work, so she was used to being in a male-dominated field.

Ashley answered TERMAC’s ad for a technician position on the job website Indeed. She trained extensively and then shadowed other technicians in the field. She appreciated working with TERMAC technician Chet Zakreski, because he is patient and does everything by the book. It was a great educational experience, she says.

At TERMAC, Ashley begins her day at 7:15 a.m., loading up her van with products, and completes paperwork. Her route is New Jersey and includes Marlton, Berlin, Maple Shade, Atlantic City, Voorhees, Toms River and the surrounding areas. She finds the driving between stops peaceful, and loves the interaction with the customers. They are shocked to see a female technician walk in the door at first meeting, but once she shows her skills working on the dish machine equipment, they are no longer surprised.

At first, her father was concerned about her working in a male-dominated field, worried that she wouldn’t be taken seriously, or would not get equal pay. As a TERMAC technician, she has proved him wrong on both counts, and in fact, has made him very proud. When she’s not working, Ashley enjoys cooking, going to the gym and spending time with family.

TERMAC is thrilled to have Ashley as part of its family of services and offers best wishes for her continued success.
